Attending Individual Academic Courses

The extraordinary approval at KUG as a non-degree programme student enables you to attend individual academic courses without seeking a degree. Furthermore, the co-registration at KUG enables you to temporarily attend individual courses at our university while you are main-enrolled at another university.

Co-Registration

Students who have been admitted to a Degree Programme at a different university and who wish to take exams for the same programme at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz (e.g. free elective subjects) have to co-register.

If you intend to do the co-registration at KUG for the first time, you have to create an online account and fill out an application (enter new application: ”other studies – Mitbeleger“) . After submitting the online pre-registration, you are not yet automatically admitted to the degree programme. Contact the Registrar´s Office in due time via e-mail to receive all necessary forms/information for admission. Please prepare following documents:

  • Identity card or passport
  • Current record of studies ("Studienblatt") from your "home" university
  • Confirmation from your "home" university that the courses you wish to enroll at KUG are not offered at your “home” university (this only applies to students whose "home" university is outside of Graz!)
  • If applicable, Secondary School Leaving Certificate (A levels)

No photocopies will be accepted!

Students who have already been registered at KUG do not need to register for a new applicant account again, but have to submit the required documents (mentioned above) during the regular admission period or grace period to the Registrar's Office via e-mail.

HINT: Co-registration is only valid for one semester. If you wish to continue the co-registration in the following semester, you have to inform the Registrar's Office during the regular admission period or grace period. For this purpose, please forward the record of studies ("Studienblatt") from your “home” university for the relevant semester to the Registrar's Office.

After successful enrollment, you can register for courses via KUGonline.

Extraordinary Approval

When it comes to admission as a non-degree programme student, a distinction is made between admission to a university course or admission to attend individual academic courses without seeking a degree.

University courses are extraordinary study programmes with a curriculum - see Courses for Children & Adolescents or Postgraduate University Courses. Here the respective admission conditions have to be fulfilled.

Extraordinary students who only want to attend individual academic courses, however, are not admitted to any particular programme, but rather for the "attendance of individual courses".

If you want to be admitted to KUG for the first time without seeking a degree, you have to create an online account and fill out an application. Then you have to carry out the enrolment via e-mail

After your enrollment, you can register for courses via KUGonline.

Courses, however, can only be attended according to available places.

NOTE: Only scientific subjects can be taken!

There are costs for attending individual academic courses.
