Teacher Education in Music Education means: Diversity

In the teacher training programme Music Education you can experience and live music: theoretical and deliberately practically oriented glimpses of a variety of disciplines enable and support the personal (artistic) growth of the students. By gaining knowledge in music pedagogic, future teachers can help their students in finding their individual approaches to music.

Admission

ADMISSION TO THE MASTER'S PROGRAMME TEACHER EDUCATION PROGRAMME FOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS (GENERAL EDUCATION): MUSIC EDUCATION AS SCHOOL SUBJECT

 

Admission requires the successful completion of a Bachelor's Degree of Music Education (Teacher Training Programme Music Education in the area of ​​the secondary general education “Sekundarstufe Allgemeinbildung”) or the Degree of a relevant, equivalent Degree Programme at a recognized post-secondary educational institution.

 

For graduates of the Bachelor's Programme Music Education in the “Entwicklungsverbund Süd-Ost”, admission to the Master's Programme Music Education is possible without any further requirements. However, you are required to register for the ranking procedure!

 

For external applicants the following applies:

Admission to the Master's Programme is only possible after passing a colloquium by an examination board.

The judgement of the qualitative admission requirements is made up of the following parts:

Applicants have to proof their

  • Skills in song accompaniment as well as
  • The experienced handling of electronic media for music lessons

The fulfilment of the qualitative admission requirements is based on the competences acquired in the Bachelor´s Programme in the two areas mentioned above (Courses: “Schulpraktisches Klavierspiel”, “Kinder- und Jugendstimmbildung”, “Musik und Computer”).

In the course of this colloquium, the applicants have to prove their artistic-pedagogical and artistic-scientific potential for being admitted to the Master's Programme.
