Studies at the Institute of Wind and Percussion Instruments focus on a practice-oriented debate on interpretational and instrumental questions to prepare students in the best possible way for their future careers as orchestra and concert musicians. The courses meet the highest demands on the practice of the arts in the professional life of musicians. This is ensured by teachers of international quality who impart artistic and instrumental-technical contents by using state-of-the art didactical teaching methods. Special importance is attached to chamber music and ensemble music to cater for the reflection of artistic processes as a precondition for artistic excellence. Gaining stage experience is possible by taking part in several ensembles (from classic woodwind quintet to brass band) and in the symphony and opera orchestra.
